From a small founding team to a focused engineering practice

In 2025 we watched buyers in transmission and distribution sign deal after deal for AI products that worked beautifully in pilot and quietly degraded in production. Each one had a slide deck full of MAPE numbers from a curated test window, and an SLA that did not survive the first month of being measured against actual operations. We started FATHOM TECHNOLOGY LIMITED because we believed the gap between pilot and production was the entire problem — not the model, not the data, not the price.
We are deliberately small. Every member of the team has shipped real systems in transmission and distribution, battery storage operations, or wholesale trading before joining FATHOM. We hire engineers who have been on the operator's side of a failed deployment and know what that costs in cash, in trust, and in late-night phone calls. We do not hire from a pipeline of generalist AI engineers looking for an interesting domain. The domain comes first.
Today FATHOM works with operators across transmission & distribution, battery storage operators, and energy traders, from our registered office at 148a Barugh Lane, Barugh Green, Barnsley, S75 1LL. We expect to grow only as fast as we can grow without losing the engineering discipline that makes the work defensible. There is no growth target for 2026 that overrides that.

Christopher leads engineering and customer delivery; if you raise a technical question on the contact form, there is roughly a one-in-two chance that the reply is from him. He has shipped dispatch software at portfolio scale before FATHOM and is the named technical officer on the company's regulator-facing correspondence.
Esposito, Patricia Margaret — appointed director 12 November 2025, the day the company was incorporated. Born February 1976. Based in England. Patricia is the founding director and carries operational, financial and legal accountability for FATHOM TECHNOLOGY LIMITED. She is the signatory on commercial agreements and the named person of significant control on the Companies House register.
The board is two directors. There is no chair, no non-executive layer, no observer seats. Decisions are taken jointly and recorded in the minute book that is kept at the registered office and available for inspection in line with the Companies Act 2006.

These commitments are the boring half of running infrastructure software, and they are what make the rest possible.
